my dog is y2k compliant, is yours? i'm sure your initial inclination is to say, "well of course". you're thinking: if she can claim her dog to be y2k compliant, then i can easily do the same! but you'd be lying.

listen: most dog's are not y2k compliant. now you're thinking: lyle's only y2k compliant because he's a chihuahua. well shuddup because not all chihuahuas can claim y2k compliancy.

let's start with food...lyle eats 12 pellets of food a day. i buy the 40 pound bags and currently have half a bag in the house and a full spare in the garage. after taking into consideration many variables including the weight of food per pellet, the actual versus label weight of a bag and pellet crumble rate, i concluded i have approximately a shitload and a half of lyle food pellets at my disposal. that will keep him going until well after y2k hits.

furthermore, lyle is more than happy to sustain himself on items outside the dogfoodpellet realm. of course this includes the obvious people foods and animal poo, but he is even more resourceful than you'd think - lyle is one of the few dogs to have built up a partial immunity to chocolate! oh, i'm not saying i encourage this. he did his chocolate experimentation with no help from me (other than cleaning up after him and rubbing his sore belly). all i'm suggesting is that it's good to know of a last resort when you have one at your disposal.

enough about food! lyle really has no other needs...he has very little hair - he doesn't need foofie haircuts like other dogs who claim to be y2k compliant might. i will admit that i take him for nail trims once a month, but i could always do those myself if i really had to.

clothes: lyle has plenty of outfits. not enough (it's never enough!), but plenty for the time being. he's got the bomber jacket, the sweatsuit, the tutu, the rainslicker, the sombrero and the baseball cap. he'll definitely need a new halloween costume, but all hell won't have broken loose by then.
